This is Part 3 in Cloud Sherpas’ Top 10 Tips for Email Administration in Google Apps

In Cloud Sherpas’ second video they discussed the initial steps for debugging an email bounceback in Google Apps. This tutorial takes the process a little further, with some really important information.

One thing to note when analyzing an error message is that sometimes the delivery status notification includes the original message source. This can be used to look at the logs and see exactly where in the process the message failed to deliver.

Message headers and IDs are also incredibly useful pieces of information. For example, the message ID can uniquely identify a message, which can then be used later to identify issues.
