How to Publish a Google Calendar Event to a Website

< 1 minute read

Many of you already know how to publish an entire calendar to the public, so you can make it available on your website. But did you know you can publish a single event?

A very small link at the bottom of Google Calendar Events returns an embed code, that creates a Google Calendar button when pasted into your website / Google Site. This is a great way to encourage people to add an event to their calendar, as clicking the button will make a copy of the event on the user’s calendar.

We’ve found this to be a great tool for company intranets, especially if you’re using Google Sites. The HTML editor in Google Sites is very easy to use, and it makes embedding this Google Calendar button even easier.

To publish a Google Calendar Event to your website:

1.) Open the event you would like to publish

2.) Click the ‘publish event’ link at the bottom of your screen

3.) Copy the embed code in the new screen presented to you

4.) Paste this code into the HTML editor in your website / Google Site
