How to Create an Org Chart in Office 365

There’s lots of different programs you can use to build an org chart, but since you spend a lot of time already in Office apps, it makes sense to use what you know, right?

SmartArt is a tool available in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, or Outlook. With the click of a button, you can create many types of hierarchical charts, customize the colors, and chart the layout of your organization without needing to use a new program. In Excel, Word, PowerPoint, or Outlook:

  1. Click the Insert tab.
  2. Select SmartArt.
  3. A menu window will appear with several options.
  4. For an org chart structure, select Hierarchy.

Click Ok, and you can begin building your org chart.
