How to Embed a PowerPoint Presentation on a Webpage

Have you ever needed to embed a slideshow on your website or blog?

This post describes a workaround to using OneDrive for Business to store and embed a slideshow. Using ODfB does not generate the HTML code you’d need to simply embed a presentation, so we uploaded the PowerPoint presentation to a personal/consumer-facing OneDrive account, and usedthe generated HTML from there.

If you’d like to embed a PowerPoint presentation on your webpage or blog, you can check out the video above or follow these steps.

  1. Prepare your slideshow for public viewing: remove notes, personal details, etc.
  2. Upload the file to a personal OneDrive account.
  3. Select the PowerPoint deck.
  4. Click the Embed button that appears at the top of the page.
  5. Click the Copy link or manually copy the HTML code.
  6. Save the HTML code to a notepad file for later use, or paste it directly into the HTML of your site.
