Change Your Office 365 Account Settings (Language, Contact Number, etc.)

Your Office 365 profile contains details about you like your contact information and language. We’ve already showed you how you can change your profile picture, and in the video above you can learn to change these additional details.

To change your basic info:

  1. Click the gear icon in the upper right corner, and select Office 365 Settings.
  2. Click the Edit Profile link.

To change more details (recommended method):

  1. Click your picture icon in the upper right corner, and select About me.
  2. Click the Edit Profile button.
  3. Under the Basic Information tab, you can modify your About me description, photo, and areas of expertise (AKA “Ask Me About”). You’ll see your name, department, and title here, which are set by your administrator.
  4. Under Contact Information, you can enter your contact numbers, office location, and even add the name of an assistant from the directory.
  5. Under Details you’ll be able to add additional information like past projects and interests.
  6. Click the … to access your Language and Region settings. You’ll also be able to modify preferences like using 12-hour time format or 24-hour format.

Note that all of these settings show you Who can see this? alongside the fields. Some are able to be modified (i.e. Everyone vs. Only Me) while some are set on a site level and cannot be modified.
