Introducing BetterCloud’s Next Generation Platform

The next generation of BetterCloud is now available.

Three pieces make the biggest day to day difference: a redesigned workspace built around the IT Cockpit, a natural language IT Agent, and a new Agent Governance layer for the AI already running in your environment.

A new home for IT: The new UI and IT Cockpit

We rebuilt the interface for how IT teams actually use BetterCloud day to day. Cards function a bit like widgets that let you keep user management work, bulk updates, and the IT Agent open at the same time, instead of clicking between tabs.

The centerpiece is the IT Cockpit. It’s the new dashboard with health scores, file security posture, risk signals, spend overview, and usage data from Google Workspace and your connected apps, all in one place.

A few key updates to note

  • Dark mode: A highly requested feature is here. Toggle on dark mode for a comfortable experience across the platform.
  • A new flow-based workflow builder: The beloved BetterCloud User Automation workflows has gotten a major visual upgrade where a single start node can branch out into different paths of actions. The same BetterCloud features you love like wait for response, IF/ELSE and ELSE/IF logic, and dynamic actions are all there, but in a much simpler UI.

Instead of stitching together five dashboards to figure out what needs your attention first thing in the morning, you look at one screen. For teams who basically live in BetterCloud, this is where the day starts now.

The BetterCloud IT Agent

The IT Agent is purpose-built for SaaS operations. Over a decade of SaaS operations expertise (the proprietary operational patterns, schemas, and knowledge bases we’ve codified along the way) now powers an intelligent IT Agent that works with you to control your entire SaaS environment.

You give the IT Agent instructions in plain english. Things like “audit external file shares from the finance team over the last 30 days and give me a remediation plan” or “offboard this user across every connected app”.

The steps outlined include suspending the account, transferring data and calendar events, removing from groups, and deleting email aliases. Action items are presented as a detailed checklist within the ticket window.

A few important features of the IT Agent to call out:

  • Human in the loop: Nothing runs without your explicit approval. The agent proposes an action and you decide whether it executes.
  • Agents run in parallel: Run multiple agents at once so you can change an entire department’s manager while another onboards the two new hires for next week.
  • Reverse an action by just saying so: Roll back changes without piecing them together by hand. This feature is the one that impressed our early beta testers the most as the IT Agent was able to roll back multiple steps.

Under the hood the IT Agent uses the same workflow engine and data layer as the rest of the platform so its actions inherit the same automations, permissions, and audit trail.

Rollout

The rollout runs in phases from now until the end of the year. The roadmap includes Agent Governance, customized IT Agents, more analytics, and more. Stay tuned right here to see when these updates become available.

Current BetterCloud customers that are interested in implementing the next generation platform can reach out to their CSM to get scheduled.

If you don’t have BetterCloud yet, book a demo and we’ll walk you through the workspace, the IT Agent, and other modules in one sitting.
