If you struggle to stay informed with the latest news, we’ve got you covered. Here’s a really cool tip that lets you push live news headlines right into Slack using Google Sheets and Apps Script.

1. Visit https://newsapi.org to register and get an API key.
2. Visit https://my.slack.com/services/new/incoming-webhook and establish an incoming webhook. You’ll be using the webhook URL later.
3. Open this Google Sheets template and make a copy. You’ll use this for customization purposes, like which publications you want to push news from, how many articles you’d like, which Slack channel you want the news in, etc.
4. Edit the script by inserting your News API key and Slack webhook URL, and then run it.
