In our opinion, one of the best features in Gmail and Google Docs is also one of the least well-known. The Remove Formatting button can save you tons of time when copying / pasting text, and it’s really easy to use.

Whether you’re using Gmail or Google Docs, you probably copy and paste from other sources pretty frequently. Without the Remove Formatting button, you’d need to manually change the font, size and color of your text so it fits in with everything else.

Fortunately, Remove Formatting takes care of all of this for you! All you need to do is paste your text into Gmail or a Google Doc, highlight the text, and click the Remove Formatting icon to have all your text match the default text style.
