According to Statista, English is the most spoken language worldwide. On this same list, Spanish is ranked as the fourth most spoken language in the world. To speak to these two populations, we’ve created two videos here that outline how to use Spanish formulas in Google Sheets. The first video is in English and below the English instructions are the steps and video in Spanish.

To change your default language in Sheets:

• On your Sheet, go to File.
• Select Spreadsheet settings.
• In the new window, select English under General Settings.
• On the Language Setting profile, click the pencil to edit, and select your default language.
• Return to your Sheet and click Save Settings.
• Refresh your browser, and your refreshed page should appear in your default language.
• To test out the formulas in your selected language, begin typing the formula you would like to use and calculate.

To keep your default language settings in Sheets as is, but only use formulas in English:

• Select File.
• Click Configuración de la hoja de cálculo.
• In the new window, select the option that reads “Always use the names of the functions in English.”

If you want to reference formulas in English and in other languages:

• Leave the above option “Always use the names of the functions in English” unchecked.
• Return to the Language Settings profile.
• Once you’ve decided on a default language in the top, you can decide which languages you want to list under the section “Other languages I understand.” The languages you put here will allow you to use formulas in Sheets in those languages.

Como Utilizar Fórmulas En Español En Sheets

Para cambiar tu idioma preferido en Sheets:

• Empieza en una hoja .
• Haz click en File.
• Selecciona Spreadsheet Settings.
• Una ventana aparecerá. En General Settings tienes la opción de editar Display Language.
  • Haz click en English.
• Ahora estás en la página de Language Settings.
• En esta página, haz click el lápiz.
• Selecciona el Español como idioma preferido.
• Regresa a tu hoja y selecciona Save Settings.
• Refresca la página para que Google reconozca el cambio del idioma.
  • Ahora, tu hoja esta en Español.

Para mantener tu idioma preferido, pero al mismo vez, usa fórmulas sólo en inglés:

Las buenas noticias de cambiar lenguas en Sheets es que también, puedes alternar entre fórmulas en dos lenguas. Hay algunas situaciones en las cuales posiblemente conozcamos fórmulas en inglés que otra lengua porque anteriormente, solo había disponibilidad de fórmulas en inglés. Pues, si ingles es la lengua en la cual conoces tus formulas, tienes la opción de solo mostrar fórmulas en inglés.

• Puedes encontrar esta opción en Archivo.
• Selecciona “configuración de la hoja de cálculo.”
• Una ventana aparece.
  • Selecciona la opción en esta ventana “Usar siempre los nombres de las funciones en inglés.”

Si quieres hacer referencia a fórmulas en español e inglés:

Hay algunas fórmulas que solo conoces en inglés, o solo conoces en español. Esta situación será un ejemplo de tener inglés como lengua preferida, pero español como lengua familiar.

• Para ajustar esta configuración, regresa a la pagina de Language Settings.
• Mantenga tu idioma preferido como español
• En la sección de “otros idiomas que comprender” selecciona Inglés aquí.
• Regresa a tu Sheet, refresca la página.
• Ahora, se puede usar fórmulas en inglés y español.
