How to Create a PowerPoint Template From a Presentation

< 1 minute read

PowerPoint Blue1

If you find yourself making the same types of PowerPoint presentations often, you can save time by creating your own template from an existing presentation. This way, all you have to do is set up and customize the slides the way you’d like, and then you can save that template and use it for any presentations going forward.

  1. Set up your PowerPoint presentation as you’d like, including any customization you’d like to use for your template (i.e., images, formatting, branding, etc.)
  2. Go to File > Save as Template. This will save the file as a .potx file.

When you create a new PowerPoint file, you’ll see your new template among the available templates in PowerPoint.
