SaaS Updates for March 15, 2017

The long-awaited Microsoft Teams is finally here! Teams is “a digital workspace built on four core promises: chat for today’s teams, a hub for teamwork, customization options, and security teams trust,” according to Microsoft. It’s now generally available in 181 markets and in 19 languages. Microsoft has also introduced 100+ new features to address top customer requests.

Two pieces of Google news: 1. You must upgrade your Google Drive plug-in for Microsoft Office (to version 1.7.17.0) before April 20, 2017. Starting then, you won’t be able to sign in to older versions of the plug-in. 2. Now you can send and request money in your Gmail app on Android. You can exchange money with people even if they don’t have a Gmail address.

Finally, Asana announced that its integration with Microsoft Teams is now available. Teams can now add their Asana projects to their group chats.
