We spoke with Russ Young, Executive Vice President at LTech, a leading North American reseller, to find out more about his organization.

BetterCloud: When was your organization founded?

LTech: 2001

BetterCloud: What led to the founding of your company?

LTech: Tech was founded in 2001 to provide enterprises with best-of-breed technology solutions. Since then, we have evolved into a leading cloud technology integrator. As an early Google Enterprise Partner, we have helped hundreds of customers benefit from Google Apps and the Google Search Appliance. Our experience working with a diverse set of customers – from startups to Fortune 500 companies – has made us a trusted name in enterprise class technology services.

BetterCloud: How has the market changed since you started as a Google Apps reseller?

LTech: The market change we see is primarily the focus on what cloud means to an enterprise. Only a few years ago, a large part of our sales process was explaining what the cloud was! Now, the conversations we’re having are “cloud first,” allowing our team to discuss and assess which cloud solution works best for a certain project, application, DR plan, etc. In short, in three years the market has gone from “Why Cloud?” to “Why not Cloud?”

BetterCloud: Does your company have a certain specialty – Industry? Location? Size?

LTech: Our development services are our specialty. We have a seasoned team of developers and architects who focus on Search Engineering, Web 2.0 and Mobile Development. Our services include:

BetterCloud: Can you tell us one thing about your company we wouldn’t find out from your website?

LTech: LTech is very good at not advocating our successes. For example, you won’t find on our website that in 2011, Gartner named us one of five Cool Vendors in Cloud Services Brokerage, 2011

BetterCloud: What is your favorite BetterCloud feature? Why?

LTech: That’s a tough question primarily because BetterCloud continues to grow and enhance so rapidly. If I had to pick one feature, it’s knowing that Flashpanel can eliminate the stresses of onboarding from the administrative level. To a certain extent, I compare BetterCloud to the equivalent of what you’d expect when imaging a desktop. Since we’re in the cloud, we suggest admins use BetterCloud to perform their bulk or single provisioning needs.

BetterCloud: What do you hope to see from BetterCloud going forward?

LTech: More of what you’ve continued to do, which is listen. BetterCloud makes a very concentrated effort to understand and appreciate the needs of end users and admins described to you via the resellers. It’s comforting / exciting to know that the reseller channel contributes to making FlashPanel a better product.

BetterCloud: What do you hope to see from Google Apps in the future?

LTech: I look forward to seeing more integration of the Apps suite. For example, when Google+ released communities our team jumped on it immediately. Being able to set up communication threads with project teams, hold video conferences in one click, share Drive files seamlessly and even create events is exactly the type of team oriented collaboration Google thrives at creating. I can’t wait to see what’s next!

BetterCloud: What are your company’s plans for 2013?

LTech: Part of our 2013 initiative is to advocate our relationships with partners like BetterCloud. For example, we’re holding a webinar for BetterCloud on July 24th. Interested parties can register here.

BetterCloud: Favorite cloud service your company uses, other than Google Apps?

LTech: I would have to say Amazon Web Services for cloud infrastructure. We compare Google Apps and SalesForce to being the best “toys” out there. AWS is more like a giant box of legos where we can build just about anything our customers can dream – and generally more quickly and cheaply than they think is possible.

BetterCloud: What’s the best thing about working at your company?

LTech: Providing enterprise ready cloud solutions. Nothing is more rewarding than working with customers to reduce their spend and increase their productivity. Additionally, we’re grateful to constantly work with businesses who genuinely appreciate the time, effort and availability LTech’s team offers.
