New Discover and other Actions, Integration Enhancements, & Visual Updates

For January 2021, we are excited to bring a range of new features and enhancements to the BetterCloud platform. We have added actions for BetterCloud Discover, new actions for several integrations, enhancements to a number of integrations, and a visual update of the product UI.

New Features

Discover Application Actions
Requires the Discover SKU

  • ○ Revoke a User’s OAuth Application
  • ○ Removes the active OAuth scopes for that App

Dropbox

• • Set Shared Link for Folder
  • ○ Enables users to set the Shared Link settings for a given Folder
  • ○ Users can set Visibility, a static/dynamic Password, and an Expiration date

      • ○ Enables the deletion of a sharepoint file, so that users can automate the remediation of security alerts and manage offboarding

      • ○ Enabling administrators to update a user’s name in addition to setting their status to Active or Disabled
    • • Update Role
      • ○ Enabling administrators to update the permissions associated with a given role
    • • Email Invitation to User
      • ○ Enabling administrators to send an email invitation to pending users

    Smartsheet

    • • Update User
      • ○ Enabling administrators to update a user’s attributes such as name, administrator status, or their ability to create new sheets
    • • Add Member to Group
      • ○ Enabling administrators to add users to Smartsheet groups
    • • Remove Member from Group
      • ○ Enabling administrators to remove users from specific groups
        
    • • Remove Member from all Groups
      • ○ Enabling administrators to remove users from all of their groups. This is often incorporated into the offboarding process

    BlueJeans

    • • Update User
      • ○ Enabling administrators to update a user’s attributes such as their name, title, time zone, or more
    • • Cancel User’s Meetings
      • ○ Enabling administrators to cancel all of a user’s meetings as part of offboarding

      • ○ Enabling administrators to transfer a user’s meeting recordings to another user as part of offboarding
        

     

    Enhancements

    • • Google Workspace Updates
      • ○ We’ve added the new Google Workspace licenses to the dropdown on the Google – Assign License and Google – Remove License actions. You will find all of the new licenses as well as the previous G Suite license names with “(deprecating)” appended to the end to ensure you know which license types Google is deprecating. Please note if you are moving to the new Google licenses, you will need to revise any existing workflows to ensure you have the correct license type selected

     

    • • Dropbox “View File” link
      • ○ Publicly accessible files in Dropbox no longer redirect to sign in pages and allows a user to view the file directly from the “View File” link

     

    • • Improved content scanning retries
      • ○ Users will see fewer “Unknown Errors” when they perform content scans of any type (previously ~1.5% of attempted scans would have been Unknown)
      • ○ Users should notice audits that reach ~99% should no longer take hours to run to completion

     

    • • Zendesk
      • ○ Reset Password Action
      • ○ Dynamic Password
      • ○ Password Length and Complexity is automatically set using their highest Password requirements
      • ○ Supports ability to send new password to User’s Email

     

    • • Okta
      • ○ Edit User Profile
      • ○ When offboarding a user with a BetterCloud workflow, admins might want to dynamically note the date of offboarding in the name field in order to more easily track that information
      • ○ Date/Time will now be an available dynamic field in the First Name and Last Name fields of the Edit User Profile action

     

    • • Salesforce
      • ○ Remove User from all Permission Sets
      • ○ Enable admins to remove a user from ALL permissions sets, to reset privileges and start fresh (either as part of offboarding or crossboarding)

     

    Visual Update

    We’ve enhanced the visual design of BetterCloud to deliver a more consistent, accessible and usable product. With this release, you’ll see improvements to the visual design to deliver a more uniform experience in terms of color and typography across the platform.

    • • • Improved User Interface (UI) Consistency
        Provide a more current, unified and familiar appearance across multiple sections of the application

     

    • • • Increased Accessibility
        Apply more high contrast color for text, links, and buttons in order to increase usability for those with color vision deficiency and to decrease the need for reliance on assistive technologies

     

    • • Refined Typography
      Updated to improve readability and limit the variety of font styles/colors/weights used to deliver a more distinct, singular experience

    Note that these visual refinements do not affect navigation or materially change user interaction with the BetterCloud platform but instead provide “instant” improvements to BetterCloud’s look and feel.
