Create More Flexible Workflows With Custom Triggers in BetterCloud

Many IT leaders agree that automation can deliver exponential value to employees across your organization. Over the last couple of years, our customers have leveraged BetterCloud to automate complex business processes, reduce manual tasks for IT, and improve the end-user experience.

However, we’ve also gotten feedback about how difficult it can be to find a set of triggers or conditions that match your company’s unique needs. This is just one of several reasons that we’re excited to announce the general availability of Custom Triggers in BetterCloud.

How Custom Triggers make workflows more powerful

Custom Triggers enable you to create workflows involving SaaS applications and actions for which there is not yet native support in BetterCloud.

This capability extends the BetterCloud platform to support a wider range of applications, actions, and use cases to empower IT teams to build new and better workflows. Custom Triggers help IT teams automate more SaaS-focused processes and build workflows that begin earlier in an IT process and can be automatically kicked-off without manual intervention. Any SaaS app that can send a JSON-formatted webhook to BetterCloud is a candidate for leveraging this feature.

Common use cases for custom triggers include, but are not limited to:

• Initiating a workflow from ticketing systems, so that users can be provisioned when a ticket status changes.
• Initiating a workflow based on changes coming from integration platforms, so that users can be managed throughout lifecycle changes.

Apps that have already been fully validated with Custom Triggers include the following, with more in active testing and validation:

• Jira
• Jira Service Management (Service Desk)
• Zendesk
• Freshservice
• Zapier
• Greenhouse
• PagerDuty

This list represents just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to which apps can potentially be integrated into workflows in the BetterCloud platform.
