Two G2 badges labeled "Best Software 2026," awarding "Top 50 Data Privacy Products" and "Top 50 IT Management Products" on blue backdrop.

To our customers: Thank you for setting the standard.

Before we talk about rankings, categories, or lists, we want to start with a massive thank you to our customers.

In the IT world, “feedback” usually comes in the form of an urgent ticket or a late-night Slack message. Taking the time to leave a public review to share your wins, your challenges, and your workflows is a level of advocacy we don’t take for granted. Because of your honest input, BetterCloud has been named in G2’s 2026 Best Software list in two distinct categories:

  1. #44 Best Data Privacy Software Products
  2. #42 Best IT Management Software Products

If you’re already a BetterCloud user, these awards belong to you. You’ve pushed us to build a platform built for your exact needs.

If you’re new here or just evaluating us, you might be wondering why an “IT Management” tool is winning awards for “Data Privacy.” Or perhaps you’re wondering if this is just more marketing noise. To answer that, we have to look at why your peers in the industry are moving away from legacy tools and toward a unified SaaS management approach.

Why SaaS management and privacy are now inseparable

For years, IT management and data privacy lived in separate silos. IT managed the “pipes” (the apps and users), while Security/Privacy teams worried about the “water” (the data inside them).

In 2026, those silos have collapsed.

When an IT admin automates an offboarding workflow, they are performing a management task. But by ensuring that a former employee’s access to sensitive customer data is revoked in seconds, rather than days, they are also executing a critical data privacy function.

G2’s recognition of BetterCloud in both categories reflects a fundamental truth in modern IT:

You cannot secure what you cannot manage, and you cannot manage what you cannot see.

What IT is saying about BetterCloud

I appreciate that BetterCloud provides really powerful tools to automate and build workflows to handle various processes. It allows us to manage Gmail signatures for Google Workspace, ensuring all our signatures are standard and look professional across the organization. I also like how it lets us view and access data on things like files and folders, and alerts us when someone shares something externally, which is super useful for protecting private information. BetterCloud’s capabilities make managing our systems much more streamlined.”
Brian B., IT Manager, Mid-Market

It’s helped streamline SaaS management, cut some costs and strengthened our overall security posture. With the centralized visibility it has reduced some admin overhead and revealed some unused or redundant tools we have.”
Keanna S., Information Security Analyst, Mid-Market

Beyond the badge: Delivering the future of automated IT governance

While these awards look at the year as a whole, our product team has been hard at work shipping the updates that made these wins possible. To truly support the “unified” approach our customers crave, we’ve focused on three core pillars: expanded visibility, interactive automation, and intelligent governance.

Here is how our latest updates are helping you master the intersection of IT management and data privacy:

Deepening the zero-touch workflow

The complexity of the modern tech stack is exploding. We’ve expanded our integration library to include the AI and productivity tools your teams are adopting today, like OpenAI, Linear, and PandaDoc.

Our major Okta SCIM integration now allows for automated license removal and deprovisioning across 60+ additional applications. This ensures that when a user leaves, their access to sensitive data is truly revoked across your entire stack—even for apps without direct APIs.

Bringing “human-in-the-loop” to Slack

Managing IT shouldn’t feel like a one-way street where you’re shouting into the void. Our new Slack “Wait for Response” action allows admins to build interactive workflows.

You can now trigger an automated security check or access request that pauses for user input directly in Slack. It allows for critical decision-making without forcing you (or your users) to leave the conversation to log into another dashboard.

Unified visibility with product suites

Shadow IT thrives in the shadows. We introduced Product Suite support, allowing you to group related tools (like the Adobe or Atlassian suites) into a single, comprehensive view.

This doesn’t just help with spend optimization; it gives IT a clearer picture of where data lives and how permissions are distributed across complex platforms. If you don’t know who has an Adobe license, you don’t know who can access your creative IP.

Precision in data integrity

Automated workflows are only as good as the data feeding them. We’ve added Merge Actions to resolve data discrepancies, such as duplicate accounts for the same user.

By cleaning up your identity data, we ensure that your automated security policies are applied to the right person every time, closing the “ghost account” gaps that often lead to data leaks.

These updates aren’t just about adding “more” to the platform—they’re about making IT management more precise so that data privacy becomes an effortless byproduct of your daily operations.
