Greetings. There were a couple of exciting G Suite updates this week. For one, Google is introducing a new out of office option and customizable working hours in Google Calendar to further improve your digital well-being (and hopefully get people to stop pestering you when you’re out of the office). Google is also rolling out a new G Suite Apps Uptime Report in the Admin console, and they’re making the Quick Access feature in Google Docs available too. Plus, they’ve enabled new features in Hangouts Meet to ensure your users always find their meeting rooms configured correctly. And finally, Google announced a discounted price of Jamboard devices for G Suite for Education customers in the US (a one-time cost of $5600).

Read on for more details.

The Keyword | Starting this fall, Google is bringing the Google IT Support Professional Certificate to more than 25 community colleges in Illinois, Michigan, Ohio, Wisconsin, Texas, California, and New York. This Grow with Google program teaches people the skills they need for an entry-level job in IT support in about eight months. Since its launch in January, almost 40,000 people have enrolled in the program, and Google has funded over 10,000 scholarships to support veterans, refugees, and low-income learners.
