BetterCloud Releases New Version of FlashPanel App for Google Apps Admins

IT management app gets updated email, workflow and access control capabilities; the app is now available for free via the Google Apps Marketplace
NEW YORK, New York, July 18, 2012 — BetterCloud has added new email, workflow and access control capabilities to FlashPanel, its IT management application for Google Apps administrators. The cloud-based software is used by IT departments to manage their Google Apps domains and secure access to sensitive data. FlashPanel, which is available for free via the Google Apps Marketplace, has been installed on over 300,000 Google Apps seats since its private beta launch in May.
To reach more users faster, BetterCloud has launched a Preferred Partners program. Already, 12 of the world’s top Google Apps resellers have joined, including DoIT!, Master Concept, SIOS, Viwo, L Tech, Sheepdog, Excel Micro, Cloud Sherpas, Cloud Technology Solutions, Orion Solutions, Cumulus Global and Damson Cloud. Together, these resellers serve nearly one million Google Apps users across North America, LATAM, APAC and EMEA.

The new, public version of FlashPanel includes the following enhancements:
Email settings – New email tools such as Filters, Forwarding, IMAP/POP, Send As Alias, Language, Autoreply, Web Clips and General Settings can be applied to a single user, a group of users or an organizational unit, standardizing user mail practices across the entire domain.
User de-provisioning workflow – FlashPanel’s updated User De-provisioning Workflow provides domain administrators with detailed instructions to help an admin through the complicated deprovisioning process. The workflow gives administrators the option of hiding the outgoing user in the directory, changing the user’s password, adding an account executor, setting up an auto reply and much more. The de-provisioning workflow ensures users are removed from the domain without compromising domain security or data.
Access control – The new access control features allow “super administrators” to grant certain domain management capabilities to a specific user ranging from group and user management, to email settings, shared contacts management and more. By enabling access control for a certain user, that user is granted permission to operate within the boundaries set forth by the administrator, lightening the workload of a super administrator and facilitating easier domain management.
