If you’re administering a First Release Office 365 tenant, have you seen the roll-out of the new admin center?

The Admin Center Preview started getting buzz about a month and a half ago, and received usability upgrades just last week, as you can see in the Microsoft Garage video above. You’ll see improvements in areas like:

  • Password resets
  • Adding users and buying licenses
  • Viewing monthly billing activity
  • Checking trend information on a “usage dashboard” (upcoming)
  • Customized push notifications on the admin app (upcoming)

Overall, the new admin center has undergone changes that make it easier to use, more intuitive, more scalable, and more insightful. The basic navigation menus have changed to become more intuitive and easier to navigate. Common tasks (like those above) can be completed from the dashboard–no multiple clicks or many-levels-deep pages to access. The Office 365 team has assured us that these changes have been made without removing capability.
