New Gmail App for iOS and Android

2 minute read

Since the new Gmail inbox was released last week, changes were obviously necessary for iOS and Android to match up. If you’re a user of these apps, you’ll be prompted to update your app and check out the brand new features.

For iOS specifically, the most exciting change is the ability to specify your notifications for your multiple accounts. So you can set your work / Google Apps account to notify you of ‘All new mail’, while only being notified of ‘Primary’ mail from your personal / Gmail account.

Regardless if you’re using iOS or Android, you won’t be able to enable the new tab appearance directly from the app itself. First, you’ll need to enable the new Gmail inbox from your desktop, which will then be reflected on your mobile device.
