Google said on Monday, August 10 that they have created a holding company called Alphabet Inc. to manage all of Google’s growing businesses including robotics, medical research, nanoparticles and a few others.
Alphabet was formed as a parent company so Google could mainly focus on their two biggest sources of revenue, the Search business and advertisements. Google also announced that Sundar Pichai will become the new CEO of Google as Larry Page (the previous CEO) will head parent company Alphabet with a few other executives from Google.
But Google lovers need not fear. Google’s internet based products will operate as they always have, with the same features and functions that we all use on a daily basis. The change does not appear to be affecting Google Apps or Gmail in any way.
