Have you ever accidentally closed PowerPoint and forgot to save your presentation? Don’t worry, all is not lost. Here’s how to recover unsaved presentations in PowerPoint.

  • Head to the File menu and then choose Open.
  • You’re going to see the list of recent presentations, which of course is unlikely to include the presentation that you just accidentally closed. However, your life raft is down at the bottom of the page, in the form of this “Recover unsaved presentations button.”
  • Click on this, and you stand a pretty good chance of finding your presentation waiting for you.
  • Our advice? Open the presentation, and then immediately save it under a recognizable file name so that you don’t have a repeat of the same problem a short time down the road.
