How to Create a Gmail Filter

Creating filters in Gmail is a great way to keep your inbox organized so you don’t get overwhelmed with emails. Filters will sort and automatically manage all your incoming mail.

1. Sign into Gmail –> Click on the gear –> Click Settings

2. Click the  “Filters” tab. Then click “Create a new filter”

3. You can filter emails out by email addresses, subject lines, or even emails that have certain words in its content.

4. Choose how you want to filter it. Then click “Create filter with this search”.

5. Check the boxes that you want to apply to the messages that get caught in your filter.

1. Opening an individual email and click “More” on the top right of your message screen and click “Filter messages like these”, and then refer to step 4 above.
