2 minute read

Chrome Blue1

Given our busy day-to-day schedules, it can be easy to forget to send an email or follow up with somebody. To avoid those missteps, you can use a Chrome extension called Followup.cc. It lets you schedule reminders and send auto follow-ups in Gmail, boosting your productivity by automating tedious tasks.

  • First, head over to the Chrome Web Store and install the Followup.cc for Gmail extension
  • When you head back over to Gmail and refresh the page, you’ll be asked to sign in with Google to access the tool
  • After you connect it, Followup.cc is going to ask you to send a test email to one of your team members to see how all the features work
  • The extension’s features and options will appear at the bottom of your Compose window

Schedule reminders for emails

You can schedule an alert for a specific time or day that will remind you when to follow up with somebody. You can set it up on a recurring basis, send a reminder to everyone, or cancel the reminder if somebody replies to the email.

Automatically send follow-up emails

After an initial follow up, you may want to schedule the auto follow-up feature. This is a fully customizable template of emails that will help bounce an email back to the top of someone’s inbox when you’re trying to elicit a response from them. To see and edit the defaults, just click the view and edit the follow up emails link. Here, you can edit and customize each of these to fit the tone and branding of your organization.

Schedule e-mails to be automatically sent later

Finally, you can also draft an email right now and then set it up to send at a later time. This is a great option if you want to send a personal message rather than an auto follow-up, but it is late at night or a Friday afternoon when your email is unlikely to be read.
