There were SaaS updates from Google, Microsoft, and Slack last week. Notably, the XLOOKUP function in Excel was made generally available for all users across Windows, Mac, and Excel on the web and you can now use Hangouts with Safari version 13 or higher. You can find the rest of the SaaS updates in our recap post below.

Update to Sheets API v4 Migration Timeline
G Suite Updates | Earlier this year, Google announced the retirement of the Sheets v3 API. At that time, we stated that you’d need to migrate any applications built on the v3 API to the v4 API by March 3, 2020 to ensure they continue working properly. Google is extending their timeline to allow developers additional time to migrate their applications.

Find What You Need Faster With XLOOKUP—Now Generally Available
Microsoft 365 | The highly anticipated XLOOKUP function in Excel is generally available for all users across Windows, Mac, and Excel on the web. XLOOKUP is the successor to the iconic VLOOKUP function, which has been one of the most used functions in Excel.

Use Hangouts Meet with Safari
G Suite Updates | You can now use Hangouts Meet, including screen sharing functionality, with Safari version 13 or higher. This will create a simpler meeting experience for Mac users who prefer to use Safari as their default browser.

Edit Your New Google Sites Faster With a Revamped Settings Menu
G Suite Updates | Google made some improvements to the “Settings” menu in new Google Sites. Specifically, they’ve consolidated the location of several settings into one place, making it easier for site editors to access and configure different options for their sites.
