Greetings. There’s lots of news from Google, which isn’t surprising given that Google I/O 2018 was this week. Google made some updates to the look and feel of Google Drive to align with their latest material design principles. More news about the new Gmail: Users can work offline in it now, and G Suite admins can define rules to handle confidential mode messages. Google also shared some important information about the legacy Google Drive desktop sync client shutdown on May 12, and Google Mobile Management now supports managed configurations for Android Apps.

In other news, Dropbox announced support for WebAuthn (“Web Authentication”) in two-step verification, a new standard for strong authentication on the web. Box announced that the new Box for Hangouts Chat bot is now available. ServiceNow launched their new Enterprise DevOps offering as well.

Important Additional Information About the Legacy Google Drive Desktop Sync Client Shutdown on May 12
G Suite Updates | As previously announced, the old Drive desktop sync client for Mac and PC—a feature officially known as “Google Drive for Mac/PC”—will start to shut down on May 12th, 2018. After May 12th, the sync client may not work for your organization. Here are some important things to know.

Starting now, people using the new Gmail in a Chrome browser (v61 or higher) can search, write, delete, and archive up to 90 days of messages, even when they’re offline.

Dial into Hangouts Meet from Four Additional Markets
G Suite Updates | In October 2017, Google announced the rollout of international Hangouts Meet dial-in phone numbers for G Suite domains. They’ve added this functionality for four additional countries (with more to come!): Colombia (CO), Croatia (HR), Lithuania (LT), and Portugal (PT).

Say Hello to the Box Bot for Hangouts Chat
