Greetings!

This week we saw lots of exciting announcements in the SaaS world. Microsoft announced that it’s bringing the SharePoint work environment to virtual reality headsets. Slack released Actions, a feature that turns any Slack message into a follow-up or next step, and Dropbox released new features for its mobile app.

It was a big week, in particular, for Okta. At Oktane 2018, they announced Project Onramp, an initiative that will allow IT professionals to try out new apps and services with one click from the Okta admin console, as well as a new public browser extension, PassProtect, that helps everyone choose stronger passwords. Okta is also innovating to define a secure passwordless experience for their customers, enabled by their new ThreatInsight feature.

And of course, Google rolled out a few new features for G Suite (in particular, Calendar, Sites, and Hangouts Meet).

Read on for more details.

Admin Preview for Google Sites Automatic Conversion Tool

Self-Diagnose ICS-Related Issues with Improved Google Calendar Audit Logs
G Suite Updates | When changes are made within Google Calendar, it’s important that the available audit logs in the Admin console have the information you need to understand what happened. Google has made it easier to do that for changes originating from a third-party system (such as Microsoft Exchange or IBM Notes). In these instances, the third-party system sends the user an email with an attached ICS file. To help you better investigate situations like these, Google has added new information to the audit logs.

Enforce a Password Policy on Android Work Profiles with Google Mobile Management
G Suite Updates | Many employees use their phones for both work and personal purposes, so Google makes it possible to separate the two on most Android devices by setting up work profiles. With this launch, admins will be able to mandate a password policy on just the apps within these work profiles, protecting corporate data while leaving users free to safeguard their personal apps however they see fit.
