Did you know that dynamic email in Gmail will be generally available at the beginning of July or that you can now view the edit history of a cell in Sheets? You may have also missed that Google Photos will stop automatically syncing with Drive as of July 10, 2019. Google released plenty of updates last week; catch up on what you missed below.
Dynamic Email in Gmail Becoming Generally Available on July 2, 2019
G Suite Updates | Earlier this year, Google announced dynamic email in Gmail in beta. On July 2, 2019, this feature will become generally available and will launch on by default for all domains. This means that users will be able to access the feature unless you choose to disable it via the Google Admin console.
See Changes in Google Docs Over Time With Compare Documents
G Suite Updates | It’s now easier to compare two Google docs. This feature will show you the differences between the docs as “Suggested Edits” in a new document.
View the Edit History of a Cell in Sheets
G Suite Updates | “Show edit history” is a new feature in Sheets that will help you easily see the edit history of a cell, including who made the last edit, when that edit was made, and the cell’s previous value.
Take Action by July 8, 2019, to Ensure Your Users Can Continue to Use Third-party Apps Accessing Gmail Data
G Suite Updates | To better protect your data, Google has made an important update to their policies governing third-party apps (web, Android, iOS, Chrome, and other apps) accessing Gmail data using G Suite APIs and OAuth2.
Google Photos Will Stop Syncing to Drive on July 10, 2019
G Suite Updates | Starting on July 10, 2019, Google Photos will no longer sync to Google Drive. From that date forward, if you add or delete files in Photos, they won’t be automatically added or deleted in Drive.
Use an Android Phone for 2-step Verification on iOS Devices
G Suite Updates | Earlier this year Google announced the ability to use your Android phone’s built-in security key for two-factor authentication in G Suite. Now, you can use devices with Android 7.0+ (Nougat) to verify your sign-in to Google and Google Cloud services on Apple iPads and iPhones.
