SaaS Updates Summary: January 8 – January 12

Google has been keeping busy, rolling out multiple updates for G Suite this week. Google Drive users, rejoice: Now you can search for content in a specific folder in Drive. Other updates this week include the ability to delegate three new Gmail privileges to users, improved accessibility for Sheets, Slides, and Drawings, and more.

Install Gmail Add-ons for Your Entire Domain
G Suite Updates | Google recently launched Gmail Add-ons, which allow you to work with your favorite business apps—directly from Gmail. To make it super easy for users to access these helpful tools, Google has now made it possible for G Suite admins to install Gmail Add-ons for their entire domains.

Move Projects from Spreadsheets to Asana: Introducing the CSV Importer

Pause Workflows
BetterCloud Release Notes | An action titled “Wait for Duration” is now available in the BetterCloud Workflow Builder! Using this action, you can now preset your workflow to pause at specific times, and for a specific duration of hours or days, before continuing on to subsequent actions.

Connect Multiple Instances of G Suite and Office 365

This allows organizations spread across many domains and service providers to assemble all of their data in one cohesive view, supporting more comprehensive security measures, powerful automations, and efficient management tasks.

Improved Accessibility for Google Sheets, Slides, and Drawings
G Suite Updates | As part of their ongoing accessibility initiatives, Google is launching new features for Google Sheets, Slides, and Drawings. Specifically, they’re adding Braille support in Google Sheets, and screen magnifier support in Google Slides and Drawings.

Search Within a Folder in Google Drive
G Suite Updates | You can now search for content in a specific folder in Google Drive. Only folders that are within your My Drive or within Team Drives can be searched; if you have a folder that is shared with you, first add the folder to your My Drive.

Delegate Additional Gmail Privileges to Users
G Suite Updates | Google is introducing three new Gmail privileges that G Suite super admins can grant to other users—without needing to give them super admin status: (1) Email Log Search, (2) Access Admin Quarantine, and (3) Access Restricted Quarantines.
