This past November, BetterCloud along with Expensify, Insightly, Okta, RunMyProcess, Smartsheet and Spanning Backup formed the Cloud Alliance for Google Apps, the first ever consortium of independent software vendors focused on Google Apps. Alliance members have some of the top Google Apps Marketplace applications and jointly strive to educate Google Apps admins and end-users on the best practices for operating in the Google Apps ecosystem.

Today, the Alliance launched its First Annual Benchmark Report for Google Apps in conjunction with Focus Research, Inc. in the hopes of gaining insight into the successes and shortcomings of Google Apps and specifically the Google Apps Marketplace.

The survey, sent to 50,000 Google Apps administrators, drew several interesting conclusions; surprisingly the main reason for ‘Going Google’ was not cost, but the promise of increased collaboration.

Despite initial security concerns before making the move to Google from large businesses (200+ employees), 89% of all domain administrators are satisfied with Google Apps. And going forward, the majority of respondents hope to see deeper integrations between Google Apps extensions and Google Apps’ native features as well as deeper integrations between Google Apps extensions themselves.

For the complete findings and to register for a special Cloud Alliance CEO Rountable webinar discussing the report, please visit www.cloudallianceforgoogleapps.com/report.
